Dr. Jasleen Kaur developed an interest in dentistry and healthcare early in life. She is a foreign-trained dentist and has obtained dental certifications in Australia, the United States, and Canada.

Dr. Kaur’s international training and experience across three continents have provided her with a broad clinical perspective in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of oral diseases. She is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly participates in continuing education courses and seminars to remain current with advances in dentistry.

Outside of the dental office, Dr. Kaur enjoys reading and going on long walks.

Dr. Pavel Cherkas graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, where he also earned M.Med.Sc. and PhD degrees in Neuroscience. Dr. Cherkas completed his M.Sc. in Endodontics at the University of Toronto and the Royal College Fellowship Examinations.

Dr. Cherkas is an Assistant Professor of Oral Physiology and Endodontics at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, focusing on the fields of endodontics, neurophysiology, and orofacial pain. He has conducted research at institutions including Cambridge (UK), Leipzig (Germany), and Tokyo (Japan), and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, a textbook chapter, a clinical guideline, and numerous research abstracts.

He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the Ontario Society of Endodontists. Dr. Cherkas has also served on editorial boards of the Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy, and Journal of Orofacial Pain, and he participates as a reviewer and associate member of the Faculty of 1000 Medicine. He has presented lectures nationally and internationally and has contributed as a Resident Member on the Regenerative Endodontics Committee of the American Association of Endodontists.

As a doctor of family medicine, Dr. David Engelberg understands that many aspects of day-to-day life can affect a patient’s overall wellness. Physical health, sleep quality, and self-perception all contribute to overall well-being. With this perspective and his medical training, Dr. Engelberg takes a holistic approach to patient care.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of British Columbia and completed his Family Medicine Residency at McMaster University. He has training in sleep medicine and can assist patients with obstructive sleep apnea by determining appropriate oral appliance treatments. Since 2010, he has been providing general dental and cosmetic services at Altima Dental Centres, including Sleep Well therapy and Botox and Juvederm cosmetic treatments.

Dr. Engelberg holds certification from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He is a member of the Ontario Medical Association and serves as an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Dentistry and a lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Outside of work, Dr. Engelberg enjoys listening to music and playing the guitar. He is fluent in English and Hebrew.

Dr. Barbad Zamiri completed his general dentistry degree at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran, in 1989. He then pursued training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the National Iranian University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, graduating in 1996.

In Iran, Dr. Zamiri practiced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since relocating to Canada, he has focused on general dentistry with an emphasis on oral surgery-related procedures.

Dr. Zamiri is a member of several professional associations, including the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Iranian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Outside of practice, he enjoys staying active through biking and supports charitable organizations in his home country.

Born and raised in Delhi, India, Dr. Nikita Khurana chose dentistry out of a passion for helping patients maintain their oral health and well-being. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from Manipal University in India and completed a three-year Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Prosthodontics at the same university. She then completed her dental equivalency and certification in Canada in 2023.
Dr. Khurana enjoys all aspects of general and restorative dentistry and practices a wide scope of dental procedures, including crowns, bridges, and dental veneers. She continues to expand her skills through ongoing education to stay current with modern advancements in dentistry. She is passionate about providing personalized dental care, ensuring each patient feels comfortable and well-informed throughout their dental journey.

Dr. Bassel Gebrael is a specialist in periodontics. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1998. Following graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York. He then pursued post-doctoral studies at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, receiving his specialty diploma in Periodontics in 2002.

Dr. Gebrael is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics and an active member of the Ontario Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Ontario Dental Association.

His areas of expertise include regenerative periodontal surgery to restore gum health, cosmetic gum surgery to enhance smiles, and dental implant treatment to replace missing teeth. Dr. Gebrael enjoys collaborating with other dentists to develop comprehensive treatment plans that achieve quality periodontal and restorative outcomes.
